Mackenzie Bickling

Hey! I’m Mackenzie! I’m a UX/UI designer with a certificate in UX/UI from the University of Texas at Austin with skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, User Experience, Visual Prototyping & Wireframing, Aesthetics, User Interface Development, and basic knowledge of Front-End Development. I have strengths in creativity, problem solving, positivity, collaboration, and developing digital products from ideation to execution–as well as iteration. One of my last projects was a 2 week stretch responsive web redesign of a local NPO, Fund Texas Choice. I functioned as project manager on a team of four that interviewed users and stakeholders, reorganized the information architecture, and developed a more engaging and cohesive style–so as to encourage more engagement and support for the cause. The stakeholders loved our final product and are already incorporating it into their design. I am passionate about not only the art of the design itself, but empathizing with people involved–users and stakeholders alike. I genuinely care about the ease and enjoyability of the experience interacting with me and my designs.

I first entered the design world in Lawrence, KS–when I was a freshman in high school. Graphic Design 1 turned to joining Journalism as a Graphic Designer, then becoming the Photography Editor. Design followed me to Austin, TX for college at UT where I joined several clubs as a Graphic Designer, like Spark Magazine. So, it really should’ve been no surprise when I decided to follow a career path with design at the forefront–UX/UI. I absolutely loved how UX/UI combined Graphic Design with a psychological and interpersonal element. It just clicked for me and I can’t wait to grow more and more in this field!

Who am I?

Creativity melts into my life in a variety of ways–design, painting, collaging, baking, etc. My appreciation of other creatives knows no bounds–my favorite modes being movies, television, podcasts, books, and music.
